Hannah Miles is a passionate and professional piano player and teacher from Newport News. She received her undergraduate degree in piano performance at Christopher Newport University under Dr. Benjamin Corbin in 2020. She spent a semester at the University of Chichester in England and studied under Angela Zanders. While in undergraduate studies, she had the opportunity to work and perform with many individual performers and ensembles, but realized her love for teaching and focused her studies on pedagogy; she earned her master’s degree in music with a concentration in keyboard pedagogy under Dr. Anna Balakerskia at George Mason University in 2022.

In 2016, Hannah began teaching private lessons and uses her experience to teach students of all ages. She desires to teach students who are genuinely interested in music and guide them to reach their musical goals. As a teacher, Hannah strives to be flexible, patient, and creative with each student. She loves supplementing method books with classical, jazz, or popular music depending on the student’s interests.

When not teaching or playing the piano, Hannah plays with her cat, Pianissimo, collects red things, and reads mystery books.

Hannah is excited to expand her teaching experience at Centerstage and help students learn the joy of music!
