Jamie Auberg
Clarinet, Piano & Beginning Band Instructor
Composer, author, and music educator Jamie K. Auberg is a versatile artist who is involved in many aspects of the arts. He graduated cum laude from Christopher Newport University with a bachelor's degree in Music and a Virginia State Teacher's License. He studied composition under Lt. Aldo Forte, resident composer for the Langley Air Force Band, and had the privilege of participating in the George Crumb Masterclass. Several of Jamie's compositions have been performed by fellow students, the CNU Chamber Ensemble on the tour of Germany, and the Langley Air Force Clarinet Quartet. He has two compositions published with Tuba Press and Alcove Publications. His piece, Battles for the Soul, for two clarinets and guitar has been recorded with Leonarda Productions on an album entitled Unforgettable Hues. As a music educator, Jamie taught at three private academies and has written several music method books. He is the Director of Auberg Instructional Innovations, he was the band director at Hampton Christian Academy and the elementary music and choir director at Denbigh Christian Academy. He has written several books for clarinet instruction, a piano method book and a Christian elementary music classroom method. Jamie also enjoys performing, and he has produced four CD albums. He is a freelance composer and video editor with the Virginia Company and composed the soundtrack to their movie Honorable Men. Jamie is a founding member and current president of Pi Alpha Upsilon, a local chapter of Phi Beta Fraternity.
