Summer class and show for Young Performers!
Join us this summer for a one-of-a-kind experience!
A young child's natural curiosity and imagination pair perfectly with music and theatre! We believe that a positive first experience is the foundation for future musicians and Broadway stars. We have TWO opportunities for kids to experience the JOY of being on stage and sharing stories through music!
BUGZ:
A Mini-Musical Production
There's going to be a picnic and everyone is pitchin' in...the Lady Bugs are in charge of proper etiquette, the Army Ants will handle security, the Fireflies are in charge of lighting, and entertainment will be provided by the Bumble Bees. Looks like everything is set! But what's this!?! The Stink Bug wants to come, too! Buzz on over to the country-style hoedown and "bee" the life of the party!
Students will explore all aspects of musical production through music, singing, choreography and acting. They'll develop foundational skills and confidence with themselves and their peers! With costumes and sets, and a live audience filled with family and friends, these Young Performers will have an amazing adventure into the world of music theatre!

PETER AND THE WOLF:
A Weekly Class Adventure

Prokoviev's "Symphonic Tale for Children" will take our Young Performers on a special journey of discovery each week this summer!
Students ages 3-8 will explore all the instruments and sections of the orchestra through this classic masterpiece. Each character is represented by a particular instrument and musical theme: the bird by a flute, the duck by an oboe, the cat by a clarinet , the grandfather by a bassoon, the wolf by three horns, Peter by the string quartet, and so on.

This musical storytelling will be brought to life through recordings, puppets, videos, games and more. Young Performers will learn to recognize each instrument by their character and sound. They will enjoy hands-on explorations of a new instrument each week with demonstrations by guest instructors, and at the end of the summer, students will take home their own special journals!
